First John Daly decides he can’t make an event in Germany (that was surely paying a big appearance fee), then Colin Montgomerie pulls out. What’s the connection? Both were in Collingwood this week playing in a skins game match.
COLIN MONTGOMERIE this morning became the second big name to pull out of the BMW International Open in Munich before the start.
Montgomerie’s withdrawal because of sickness followed the decision of former Open champion – and another former winner of this title – John Daly not to make the trip “for personal reasons”.

I cheer for Monty and Daly as golfers, obviously they made their quota from Telus, don’t need a BMW (?), and as independent contractors both are free to make bad decisions. I haven’t checked to see if they played in Hartford.
