JD Show in France: Another withdrawal
By Robert Thompson
For those that think the RBC Canadian Open should extend an invite to John Daly, consider whether he’ll even play a full two rounds at Glen Abbey. After all, with a score of 8-over par and having just lost a golf ball, Daly withdrew with “back pain,” from this week’s European Tour event:
Big John explains what happen via the Twitter Machine:
“Over exerted on Hole #7 which caused me to have a “SPRAINED LIGAMENT RIB” in with the Doctor now….SERIOUS PAIN !” …
“POPPING IT back in tomorrow at noon they don’t want to do it now because of the swelling!” …
“Doc says that he can’t believe I played 10 more holes!” …
“Tour Doc says about 3 days” (source)
I say give the invite to someone deserving, rather than have Daly simply withdraw after 1.5 rounds as he did in Hamilton a few years back.

During his commentary today with Renton Laidlaw at the Open de France he said he’s coming to Canada after the Open Championship. I for one would love to see a healthy Daly tee it up at the Abbey.
