Scotland flight options
By Jeff Lancaster
Flying from Toronto Pearson Airport there are two main options for direct flights to Glasgow or Edinburgh – ZOOM Airlines and Air Transat.
Both airlines have very similar flight schedules and offer a number of weekly routes. I am not sure if it was a very usual thing, but we originally booked our trip with Zoom, only to have them cancel it because they couldn’t sell enough seats. But alas, Transat had almost the exact same route, so we just booked that one (it ended up being $200 cheaper) instead.
The major international airlines like Air Canada, British Airways, Air France will offer flights as well, that will transfer through major airports like Heathrow or Paris.
Most flight options averaged around $1000 CAD, so I wouldn’t have considered the cost of flights to be too much of a pressing concern. But as indicated, we got a better deal than that on our flight, so there are deals to be had if you catch the timing right.
Plus, you can book any flight online now, and regularly check schedules and pricing. Hard to believe we all used to have to use a travel agent to do this…
More on our flight after we land in Glasgow on June 7th.
