Saying goodbye to Byron Nelson

Byron Nelson passed away today at the age of 94.
A legend of the game who will always be remembered for his incredible 1945 PGA campaign where he delivered 18 wins, including 11 in a row, Byron Nelson loss will be felt by many a golf fan. However, golf fans (even ones my age) were fortunate enough to have gotten to knowthis great game as he presided annually over his golf tournament the Byron nelson Classic.
I always appreciated the fact that he played professional golf only as long as he needed to. Once he had enough money to live and build a ranch he left the world of competitive tournament golf.
A true original – Byron Nelson – you will be missed.
